Frequently Asked Questions:


1. Can I have a fridge in my room?

YES. You can bring a SMALL bar fridge (max 3 ft tall) and it MUST have an energy star rating.
Microwaves and cooking appliances are not allowed in rooms. There is a student kitchen that you can use for cooking.


2. Do I need to bring bedding?

YES. All residence beds are twin size and come with a mattress cover. You will need to supply sheets, pillows and blankets or comforters.


3 What are the measurements of the desk and bed?

Desk : Approx. 5' 6 x 3 feet (3 feet height)
Bed : Approx. 6' 6 x 3 feet (single size)


4. Is my room furnished?

YES. Every room has curtains, a bed, desk, chair, bureau and closet.


5. Will I have access to a phone ?

YES. Each room comes with a phone line that you share with your roomate unless you have a single room. Payphones are also in each zone.


6. Can I bring a computer, stereo, TV or VCR?

YES, there is cable in each room, every zone has a TV lounge area and there is a TV in the main lobby. You will need a power bar and cable cord.


7. Can I have pets?

NO. You are not permitted any life forms with the exception of plants.


8. I am concerned about co ed residence. Can I live in a single sex area?

YES. We have designated co-ed living areas and same sex areas.


9. Can I have overnight guests?

YES. But you and your roommate must sign an overnight guest contract 24 hours before your guest arrives.


10. Can I bring alcohol into residence?

YES. We allow those students of legal drinking age in Ontario to drink in their rooms. Beer must be purchased in single-serving cans. Beer bottles, kegs, mini-kegs, funnels and shooters are not allowed in residence and will be confiscated if found.


11. Can I keep sports equipment in residence?

NO. There are a few designated storage areas for hockey bags etc. on campus.


12. How safe are the residences at Kemptville Campus?

VERY SAFE. The exterior Residence door is locked after 6pm and all weekend long. We also have security cameras. Only students who live in residence have an entrance key.


13. I am a quiet person. Will I be able to have quiet time and study?

YES. There are designated quiet times and staff monitor noise levels regularly.


14. I enjoy getting involved in activities. Is there anything available?

YES. There are many clubs and sports teams. Residence also offers weekly floor competitions and activities.


15. When can I move into Residence?

Date: Sunday, September 4th / 2011 - 10:00am.
