Research Areas:

Plant nutrition, soils, agronomy and cultivar improvement of cereals, oilseeds, and forages, agroforestry (hybrid poplar), energy from crop co-products.


Expertises:


Northern Ontario agriculture, nitrogen requirements of spring cereals and canola, agronomy of spring cereals, canola, forages and hemp, energy from whole canola seed, hybrid poplar production, use of paper mill biosolids.

  • Selection for regional adaptation of new lines of spring wheat, oat, barley, canola and industrial hemp for grain.

  • Influence of manure application method on coliform survival on pasture.

  • Cover crops for nutrient retention and addition in NW Ontario

  • Influence of agronomic factors on the long-chain sugar polymer content of forage grass and spring cereal.

  • Evaluation of regional adaptation of new field crop species to northern Ontario.
