Why Kemptville?

You are interested in the Kemptville Campus but are wondering what is so special anyway?  We have many unique qualities that make students choose us and help them to succeed while they are here.

  • First off, we are the only University Campus in Canada where you can begin a Bachelor in Bio-Resource Management majoring in Equine Management.

  • We are twenty minutes south of Ottawa and are located in the town of Kemptville.

  • We have on-campus residence space for 250 students as well as space for 70 horses in our stables!

  • Many of the amenities of larger schools are also available, such as a tutoring service, one computer for every 6 students, counseling services, library service in conjunction with 3 other universities, fitness facilities and sports programs.  The best thing is that all these services come at no extra cost!

  • Our super exciting orientation program helps you to get to know everyone and feel comfortable with the campus before classes start.

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP):

OSAP is a loan program sponsored by the federal and provincial governments and an application
is required. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
Students from outside of Ontario must apply to their home province or country for financial aid.

Residences

Residence here at Kemptville Campus encourages student activities while providing a suitable study environment. The majority of students who attend Kemptville Campus choose to live in residence. There are two residences on campus: Bell Hall which houses up to 200 students and Rorke Hall which houses up to 60 students.

All rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, chair and closet.  Each room also has high speed internet, cable TVaccess and a telephone. Each building has kitchen and laundry facilities.

Sports

Our campus has a variety of sports facilities including a beach volleyball court, 2 tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, pool tables, shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball and an extensive weight training and fitness facility. 

Students can join both competitive and intramural sports teams including but not limited to hockey, soccer, curling, archery, volleyball and bowling.


Student Clubs

We have many extracurricular student run clubs on campus, such as the Foods Club, Aggie Club, Equine Club, Photography Club, Soccer Club as well as others.

There are also student organizations that both junior and senior students can join such as the College Royal Committee, Students’ Council and the United Way Committee.

Cafeteria & Food Services

The Kemptville Campus also has a terrific cafeteria service, with several nutritious meals each day.  Our meal plan is mandatory for students that live in residence and optional for off-campus students.

Digger’s Café is available for students looking for quick and easy meals.  Digger’s is open during specified hours during the day as well as evenings and weekends.  It is located on the main floor of the Bell Hall residence.


Tutoring Services

Our Peer Academic Support for Students (PASS) program is a free peer tutoring program.  It is offered out of our campus library and the schedule is posted throughout campus and on the website.


Library Services

Our students have access to a remarkable selection of both hard and soft resources.  Our catalogue is combined with those of the Tri-University Group (Universities of Guelph, Sir Wilfrid Laurier and Waterloo). Many of our e-resources are available from any computer with an internet connection.
